This is an initiative of the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Given the value of the American Black bear species, being the only original one in Nevada, and having the government noted that summer and autumn are the months with the highest number of encounters between man and bear and promoting non-lethal strategies to promote coexistence with the bear, the ‘Bear Logical Month’ was established so several infographics like this one have been developed in different years. The aim is to provide hikers with the rules of behaviour in case of encounter with the bear or, as in this case, the rules to reduce conflict.
